I've finally outlined all the artwork I need to finish the game, and have done a lot of clean up and coloring of the art. That's the good news... bad news is, I probably won't finish the game until Spring. There's still a decent amount of coding to do after the art is done, and the art is still a good ways away.
Still, here's some of what's done. Heroines that are lost, and then rescued by your later characters may turn up in town having had to... change profession:
There's also some Game Over scenes involving hell hounds and spiders that have come along nicely. I'm going to add a special scene for being defeated by the boss, plus some naga game overs and some involving an orc boss (those are already finished, line art wise)

Very nice. I like the whole concept of previous heroines showing up in varying degrees of defeat.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Will subsequent heroines inherit XP/money from previous characters, kind of like a New Game+ feature? I'd be a lot less hesitant about losing a character for the sake of porn if I knew that I could (mostly) pick up where I left off with my next character, progression-wise.
Happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteDepends on the difficulty setting. I tried to satisfy both rogue-like fans and more traditional H-RPG enthusiasts. You just lose the character but get another with equivalent XP on Easy, have a limited number of lives on Medium, just a few lives on Hard (and lose half XP each death), and finally there's Roguelike with permadeath (although this kind of ruins a few of the hentai features of the game.)
